Date night..

I make a point to always do a date night.  There was a point in our marriage that it just was in a predictable not so fun times any more.

We defiantly look forward to where we will go to.

I think the way people are today are stuck on their phones and don’t have that conversation like before.  I admit we do pick up our phones but we are not like how we were before.  It’s so important for that real connection/bonding.

And on our way home, we make sure to find a fun way home, thank god we live near the beach area and can see Palm trees and ocean.  These are taken in Long Beach Ca.  I have to admit we are spoiled with the weather.  It was 88 degrees today and actually clear.  Clear meaning from Long Beach I can see Down Town LA.  Not to shabby.  TGIF

Natural sweet treat Plantains

I just died and went to heaven.  It’s like seriously eating candy!

Are you guys ready for this?

I used coconut oil to deep fry in my wok. Medium heat. Cut up your platains how you like it. And cook until desired color.  I sprinkled cinnamon on it to add a little bit more saying to it but actually you probably don’t need to.  It only took me about 10 minutes to make. Enjoy.

I hope you enjoy!

Loves me some Papaya

I love eating papaya!  But I’ve heard also to NOT purchase Hawaiin Papaya because at least 77% are GMO due to a ring spot virus plague that happened in the 1990’s.

When I make Smoothies I do add the seeds, there are beneficial to kill parasites that lurk in our gut.  So think twice before you throw them away.  I’ve hear you can freeze them, but I have not tried that.

I think this is the most fruit I’ve eaten since I became a health coach the last year and a half. I would of never thought of my life style now compared to 10 years ago, and I thought I was quite healthy then. So I hope you guys don’t mind the food porn in a healthy way.

Home made cashew milk

My breakfast for meatless Monday while I do some studying.  I’m excited because it’s the first time I made cashew milk.  So I will use it in my granola cereal.  I added grounded flaxseed, chia seeds, raw pumpkinseeds and blueberries.

Cashew milk is so easy to make.

1 cup of raw cashews to 4 cups of water and soak over night.
Then blend for a few minutes. I used my food processor just to test, but best in a blender.
Add vanilla and a dried imported date is optional.
Will keep up to a week.  Let me know if you guys try this.

Smoothie class 101

It’s been a while since I did a class but I was re inspired to do another one again.

I’ve learned that a lot of newbies either don’t know where to start, or what is healthy.

My classes last from 1 1-2 to 2hrs and make sure you come very hungry. I promise you will be super full by the time you leave.

My home is small so I have up to 4 guests and it’s very intimate. I serve only 3 ️Smoothies, and they are ingredients that most would not think to add in.

I love sharing my knowledge with new enthusiastic guests. And I love seeing that spark in their eyes knowing it’s actually pretty easy to do. I just took all the guess work out for them. And believe me, when I experimented on some, I was not proud of a few. Let’s put it this way, you can’t mixed just anything, lol.

So here’s a start to good health, I hope maybe one day I may even meet a few of you.

Hydration and detoxwater

The importance of staying hydrated.

Our body is mostly made up of water. An average of 50-65% it varies on the persons body type. I’m not going to get all technical about this but to stress how important we need water, so enlighten you about this..

When you are already parched your already dehydrated. Some times when you think you are hungry you actually are probably thirsty. Try actually drinking a glass of water and see if that may help curb your hunger. When your lips are chapped that’s already a sign of dehydration.

You may think drinking ice tea, soda, energy drinks may quench your thirst but in reality it’s making you more thirsty, especially the high sugar intake on those energy drinks and the amount of caffeine too. Alcohol is another culprit.

Keeping yourself hydrated helps keep your skin supple and not so dehydrated and dry, flakey and prone to wrinkles. Some people don’t like that water is so blan, so why not add some fruits and have infused water at least your adding natural flavors with some vitamin and minerals….
Also the benefits of these infused water help with detoxing our liver, relieves bloating from my experience and also may help curb your apitite and not eat as much. Just by adding lemon into your water will alkalize your body (

Try some of these fun infused water:
Lemon, cucumber, mint
Lemon, orange, strawberries, rosemary
Strawberries and kiwi
Blueberries, blackberries , rosemary
Mango, pineapple, lemon, mint
Coconut water, mango, rosemary, strawberries

There are endless combinations, use your creativity for the flavors that excite you.

Grilled veggies

Found some time to grill veggies for my meal for the next couple of days… So easy to make. I grabbed what I had,

sweet potatoes

Drizzled it with olive oil, lemon juice little bit of salt, pinch of pepper, dried basil, dill and Rosemary. Topped it off with honey, yes honey. It’s amazing! Preheat the oven to 400° stir every 10 minutes for 40 min.

After my 7day detox of eating raw with smoothies and juicing, I saw great success with my eczema. However I don’t think it was long enough. I added back a bit of beef, cheese, egg and pasta, I see it coming back. I’m guessing it’s the gluten… I will do a process of elimination and let you guys know.

Loralin out.
